Plasma rich in growth factors (PRGF) and platelet-rich-plasma (PRP)

The growth factors found in the alpha globules of human platelets have demonstrated an extraordinary potential for improving and accelerating the healing of injuries.

Although this treatment is usually applied to athletes with lesions of skin, tendons, muscles, joints, bone, etc., was in the dental sector where previously developed technique.

The system functions in the following manner: just before starting any dental surgery (tooth extractions, placement of implants, grafts, gum surgery, etc.), a small volume of the patient’s blood is taken (just 10 – 20 mL, not the 500 mL required by other systems). We withdraw concentrated forms of the growth factors, platelets, fibrin, etc., from this blood sample and finally apply each blood fraction exactly where it is needed during surgery.

Via this method we can achieve greater regeneration of tissues and quicker healing with less discomfort.

Since the material is extracted from the patient’s own blood, it never produces allergic or foreign body reactions. We only enhance the patient’s own natural capacity for healing.

Within our own private research and quality control programme, used to verify the system’s efficacy, we have studied PRGF and its application in implant dentistry under an electron microscope.
