Last week, ProntoPro media gave us a little interview that we leave you with below.
Make your oral health a pillar of your well-being
What orthodontic treatments do you have available?
We master several types: from the precise Damon orthodontics of super light forces to the invisible orthodontics of transparent aligners, to fast orthodontics like the Inman Aligner technique. We also use various systems that allow us to accelerate any type of orthodontics so that treatment can be completed sooner.
How long does it take to see the effects of orthodontics, and what factors are responsible for positive results?
All orthodontics requires the study, design and control of a good orthodontist with a lot of experience. Simplified systems can align teeth but do not achieve a correct final adjustment. The 3D treatment simulators allow us to see, before starting the orthodontics, how the smile will look every week throughout the process. The effect in real life can be seen after a few weeks.
What is the difference between braces and invisible orthodontics?
The super light force brackets allow us an extraordinary control of the dental movement. They achieve very fast and precise results and allow almost any movement needed. Invisible braces, on the other hand, are very comfortable. There are no brackets or wires and they are practically invisible. The aligners are like thin covers of a special transparent plastic. They can be removed for eating and dental hygiene and are replaced with new ones every few days. They do not achieve as much precision in the final adjustment and take a little longer to complete the treatment, but in the hands of a good orthodontist they achieve great results. Depending on each case, one type or another may be more indicated, so it is essential to understand what the situation of each patient's mouth is in order to make a good diagnosis and an appropriate treatment plan.
How often should you make an appointment after starting orthodontic treatment? Why?
It varies according to the problem to be treated and the type of orthodontics. With the new systems, visits can be made every two months. These check-ups are important to control the evolution of the treatment. By having the initial digital study, we can check if everything is going as planned or if any adjustments need to be made. These control appointments also give us the opportunity to resolve doubts, check the health of teeth and gums and give maintenance advice.
