We always want to offer your the most advanced dental techniques and materials. That’s why we have traveled once more to the IDS fair in Cologne, Germany. It’s the biggest dental fair in the world.
2.200 dental companies (manufacturers, distributors, associations, institutions, etc. dedicated to the world of dental medicine) have shown their latest products and new developments in the amazing Koln Messe Cologne convention center, with an extension of 160.000 m2, and receiving over 140.000 participants from all over the world.
The manufacturers of dental materials use this event to show their latest products lines to the world. And we, the professionals, are happy to see the newest materials, devices or techniques presented. We search for anything that can help us provide a better treatment to our patients.
This year, a lot of improvements and new products based on Cad-Cam technology have been presented (creation of restorations, ceramics, composites, implant prostheses, etc. using systems based on computer design, and manufacturing done by high precision robots).
Also, some new systems for computer-assisted guided implant surgery have appeared. These systems allow us to place dental implants with a high degree of precision.
The fair is held every 2 years and we have been assisting regularly for the last 16 years. Unlike what happens in the national fairs, most of the world dental products manufacturers and distributors go to the IDS. This allows us to contact, test and know everything about the latest products created by many dental companies from many countries around the world.
We also have some fun every time we travel to Cologne. We always find some time to walk through its commercial pedestrian streets and to visit its famous gothic Cathedral. With a height of 157 meters, it’s the highest catholic Cathedral of the world. It’s the most visited monument in Germany and has been declared world heritage by the UNESCO. The awesome relation between its height and its width makes it really spectacular. That’s why we keep visiting it every time we travel to Cologne to assist to the IDS.
In Cologne, we can also find the famous Original Eau the Cologne, the oldest perfume brand in the world. Its formula is based in ethereal oils and ethanol.
