The first week of December, we’ve moved to Los Angeles, California, USA, in order to learn a new surgical technique, from its inventor and developer, Dr. John Chao.
Many circumstances can cause gum recession: thin gums, displaced teeth, bruxism, periodontal problems, incorrect teeth brushing technique, etc.
When your gums recede, they uncover part of the roots of your teeth, which can lead to unaesthetic look, increased wear, increased risk of root decay, higher teeth sensitivity to cold and hot drinks, etc. Also, the more your gums recede, the higher the risk of having further periodontal problems.
Until now, the only way of recovering a receding gum, was through complex surgical techniques using grafts taken from the palate. From now on, and for the first time in Spain, we offer you the “Pinhole Surgical Technique”.
This procedure allows us to cover the receding gums, recovering its original shape. The Pinhole technique lets us rejuvenate your gums and cover any exposed root without using grafts, scalpels, incisions or sutures. The result can be seen from the very first moment, the post-op is comfortable, and we improve the health of your gums and the esthetics of your smile in a safe, predictable and stable way.
The technique requires a special set of instruments, which are specifically designed for this procedure.
The course, which was extremely well organized, allowed us to get the certification on the technique, practice it wisely and also allowed us to share our experiences with Dr. Chao’s staff team and with many professionals from different parts of the world.
Take this opportunity, we decided to visit the Zion Park and the Death Valley desert, sharing great moments outside the dental clinic.
